Terex Cranes France is the first French manufacturer, subsidiaries included, and one of the leaders worldwide.

The Head Office is located in Montceau-les-Mines, in Burgundy, where all the functions of the company are grouped together around the factory:

  • Engineering and design department
  • After-sales service
  • Sales and Marketing department
  • Financial department
  • Spare parts processing center

The factory is formed by more than 34000 m² of workshops which regroup different activities: prototypes, tack welding, assembling, completion and warehouse, and by 4000 m² of offices. The total staff of the site represented, on January 1st 2004, 172 permanent employees. Terex Cranes France is specialised in design and manufacture of mobile all terrain fast cranes from 35 to 55 tonnes and Superstackers, containers' handling machines under the PPM brand The company markets different machines designed and manufactured by other companies of TEREX group:

  • ATT cranes from 30 to 800 Tons (DEMAG)
  • Lattice Boom cranes from 50 to 1250 tons (DEMAG)
  • Rough Terrain Cranes from 35 to 60 tons (BENDINI)
  • Tower cranes (COMEDIL and PEINER)

In 2003, the production's level has been 135 mobile cranes and 126 Super stackers. At the moment, more than 10 000 machines were produced in the workshop.

 

Abroad, it relies on a worldwide dealer network (supported by TEREX Cranes France aftersales service engineers) for selling and servicing its machines.

Historical aspect

1967

Created in 1967 by two world leaders of tower cranes and of hydraulic shovels, PPM, produced in series in 1968 its first mobile cranes.

1995

PPM became a subsidiary to the American group TEREX CORPORATION, organised in 5 main divisions:

  • TEREX CONSTRUCTION
  • TEREX CRANES
  • TEREX ROADBUILDING AND UTILITY
  • TEREX AERIAL WORK PLATFORM
  • TEREX MINING

2002

TEREX bought the German company DEMAG (2nd worldwide cranes manufacturer).

2004

PPM became TEREX CRANES France : the head office and the plant stay in Montceau les Mines. The commercial department and the aftersales service for France are situated in Bussy-Saint-Georges (77).

TEREX Cranes France exports 75% of its cranes and 95% of its stackers production and its market share in France, all tonnages mixed up, represents more than 40%. Moreover, Terex Cranes France takes up the first place on the French market, the second in Europe and hold the third place of world manufacturer.
